Hashem Abdi is a debut author, essayist, and cultural thinker. To support the release of his first novel, When the Last Tree Falls, and establish a personal digital presence, I led the branding and UX/UI design for his official website.

The goal was to create a refined and modern brand identity that reflects Hashem’s voice, showcases his literary work, and provides a space for readers to connect with him through long-form articles and a contact page.

Our primary goals were:

  • Develop a timeless and professional logo to represent Hashem's identity as a writer.

  • Craft a minimal yet expressive color palette that aligns with the themes of his writing.

  • Wireframe and design a landing page that highlights his novel, When the Last Tree Falls.

  • Build a clean, reader-friendly articles page for his published essays and pieces.

  • Provide a contact form to facilitate communication with readers, editors, and collaborators.

The design direction was focused on clarity, calmness, and subtle elegance to reflect the tone of Hashem’s writing.

  • Brand Discovery & Moodboarding: Explored themes from his novel and writing to guide the visual direction.

  • Logo Design: Developed a custom wordmark that balanced classic typography with a modern, literary aesthetic.

  • Color Palette: Chose warm earth tones paired with deep, intellectual grays and subtle highlights, evoking nature, introspection, and thoughtfulness.

  • Wireframes & Structure: Mapped out content hierarchy for the homepage, novel showcase, article archive, and contact form.

  • Responsive UI Design: Designed flexible layouts optimized for mobile and desktop, focusing on readability and minimalism.

  • SEO-Optimized Articles Section: Ensured Hashem’s essays were discoverable by search.

The launch positioned Hashem Abdi as a rising voice in literature while giving readers a beautifully curated space to engage with his thoughts, ideas, and debut novel.
